From my initial consultation through to my surgery and recovery, every member of staff was professional, attentive, and incredibly supportive. My microdiscectomy at L5 was performed at 35 Weymouth Street, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Before surgery, I was in severe pain caused by a large L4/L5 disc herniation. I cannot recommend Irfan Malik highly enough. From the initial consultation, I felt reassured that I was in expert hands. He clearly explained all treatment options and the likely outcomes, and in my case, surgery was the most appropriate path forward. Although the operation was already scheduled, I experienced a sudden and severe flare-up 3 days beforehand. I felt a “pop” in my back that left me barely able to stand or walk beyond the bathroom. I was admitted to hospital earlier than planned, and Mr Malik was willing to come in and operate late on a Friday evening if needed. This meant a great deal to me. Mr Malik performed an endoscopic discectomy and found that the nerve was severely compressed and inflamed. The result was immediate. I woke up with complete relief from the leg pain, and within days I was walking comfortably again. The only way I can describe it is like having a splinter removed. Waking up pain-free felt surreal, but it was real. My recovery has exceeded all expectations. Four weeks on, I feel completely back to normal and have started physiotherapy. Throughout the entire process, Mr Malik was calm, clear, and highly professional, which made a very difficult situation much easier for both me and my partner. I would also add that Fortius Clinic, where the procedure took place, was outstanding. The level of care and comfort was exceptional, more like a five-star hotel than a medical facility. I, along with many others, owe Mr Malik a debt of gratitude that is hard to put into words.

I underwent a TLIF procedure abroad which unfortunately left me with significant disability and ongoing pain. My spine was tilted to the left, and the implant had not been properly secured, resulting in forward migration and serious complications. Mr Malik is exactly what you want in a surgeon. After a scary diagnosis he was very understanding and made me feel ready for the surgery to come. The surgery was performed brilliantly by him and his team. I'm extremely happy that he helped my through my issue.

I can’t begin to praise Dr. Malik enough for what him and his staff did for me. When I slipped my disc I was completely incapacitated. I was physically unable to stand on my own. The NHS referred me for an MRI that was 6 weeks away which was just not an option. At the time I also had a 5 month old at home, staying in the state I was in just wasn’t an option. My husband did extensive research and came across Dr. Malik. He was able to see me the day after we contacted him, gave me an MRI that evening and was able to fit me in for a nerve block the following morning. Although everything went perfectly it provided minimal relief as the slip was so bad. Mr. Irfan Malik Neurosurgeon is the most clever and skilled gentleman he has a font of knowledge which is exceptional. I have suffered with localized back pain which has progressed to beyond severe after a year and a half no conventional medicine helped .He has been my last whisper of hope to resolve it. I had a benign tumour in my throracic spine vertebra. He found the solution which meant surgery, I welcomed this I had my surgery within a fortnight just how wonderful is that. I had continuous pins and needles in my hands and a numb arm and was unable to sit down without the symptoms getting worse. I was referred to Mr Malik was very kind and courteous. I had lots of tests and discovered I needed to have two discs replaced at the top of my spine. He explained everything to me leading up to my surgery and on the day. My surgery went well and I've enclosed pictures post surgery to today 11 months on. I had immediate relief but followed up with physio afterwards for 8 weeks. I am pain free and able to live life normally.

Mr. Malik did a very complex laminectomy and fusion on me in January 2024, which literally saved my life. My spinal cord was trapped in three places as I had a disease of the spine (OPLL - the posterior longitudinal ligament calcifies and turns to bone and grows inwards). I was in a lot of neuropathic pain, had myelopathy (losing sensation in my limbs) and was at risk of becoming quadriplegic if I had a fall or a crash and was slowly becoming quadriplegic already. There was no choice but to operate and it was a dangerous rare surgery with high risk. Mr Malik was incredibly kind throughout the process, he was very honest about the risks but was also extremely reassuring and very supportive to me and my family who were shocked at the immediacy of the diagnosis and need to act without delay. I had absolute faith in him. His care and after care at the Harley Street Clinic was first class. His ongoing care was incredible and he personally continued to monitor me and my progress between follow up appointments at his clinic. I cannot speak highly enough of Mr Malik, there are not enough words to express my thanks to him. I am indebted to him. He has saved my life. He is the consummate professional and an incredibly compassionate and kind human being.

Mr Malik carried out a major operation on my lumbar region three weeks ago. All pain and discomfort which existed prior to the operation has since disappeared and I am recovering rapidly. Throughout my consultations with him, pre- and post- operation, Mr Malik has been thorough in explaining what was involved and in answering the many questions which arose. He is very understanding and courteous, and I would recommend him to anyone contemplating a serious spinal operation of this kind.

After a long time pain in my back and mistreatment of my pain in hospital and with no progress for treatment of my pain , I was referred to Dr Malik by one of my friend and Dr Malik kindly arranged an emergency appointment and discectomy. That was a successful operation and I could walk again and go back home after 24 hours and that was a very quick recovery.

I had back pain and later it went to my knees and whole leg. Dr Irfan was able to diagnose what issue I had. He detailed explained my issue and he had given me options to avoid surgery. I tried every alternative but nothing worked and I had to go for surgery. Dr. Irfan took good care of me and was very helpful and patience with my questions. Mr Malik completed my operation on 3 October 2022. From start to finish him and he’s team we’re amazing and so reassuring. I have many medical conditions and this was managed extremely well and worked around the operation. The outcome is amazing and I am pain free able to sleep a whole night and able to walk again. I would like to thank Mr Malik for giving me my life back. I am only 26 and could not walk or sit for over a year.

Had a spine surgery in August, 2021 and left the hospital same day and walked upstairs by MYSELF. I came back asking my family if i really had any procedure done. It was the fastest and safest laser procedure ever. Mr. Malik was so welcoming and homely, and that alone made it so easy for me to make up my mind for the surgery. I live a pain free life now.
